I am running late, but I just had to steal these few moments with you, 'cuz I think I am so clever!
The class I am taking this morning at my favorite quilt shop, Strawberry Patches, requires four fat quarters, though I am taking five because I the fifth color makes me happy.
So, here's why I am clever this morning...
Do you know what that is?
It's this, all my wrinkled fabric, soon to be cut into fat quarters...
And then the fat quarters, ironed nice and crisp with my favorite (too expensive) starch...
And a cut-to-size cardboard tube, that I just robbed from my happy birthday gift wrap (I used a serrated-edged knife to cut the tube to the right size, because I was in too big a hurried frenzy to go out to the garage, get the stool, and reach for my husband's hack saw)...
Lastly, I wrapped the edges of all the layered fat quarters around the tube, then picked it up and carefully rolled them around the tube...
Ta-done!
I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date... gotta run!

I love your quilts! I totally love the one you made my dad out of all of his old running shirts. One of these days I am gonna have to get you to make me one! :)
That looks so pretty! I love pretty fabric but getting anything made out of it always seems to be just out of my reach. I have found that boys and sewing machines are a dangerous combination!
