Still Yakking...

Yes, I am still yakking about my BFF Getaway! I can't help myself, because today, besides showing you some fun things from around my house, and a spatula-licking good recipe I created, I want to share something with you...

Come close, and look at this...

What I wanted to share was that you can carry fun along on your trips! Yes, indeedy! Notice the autumn-colored mini tablecloth and plastic blue wine glasses. It's the little things that make life grand. We actually tote our fun with us, and we have throughout the years. Since suitcases now have wheels, it's a breeze to get our goodies from our homes, to my car (I am always our chauffeur), and into our hotel room. I share this with you because you might not have ever thought of this, and I don't want you to ever miss out again! :)

Autumn is popping up for a surprise visit; see...

These are narcissus. In a few more weeks Superman and I will have their precious white and yellow flowers all over the yard. Did you know that if you keep cutting them, say, for bouquets, they will reproduce like rabbits? If you are diligent to cut them, they are diligent to keep giving you new blooms. That's how it is in my yard, anyway. Hot spring days always chase them away, but till then... that's months and months of darling beauty and fragrance!

(No need to wipe your glasses; the picture is a blurry one.)

On a side-note whim, I want to share with you about Liz's Made-Up-Myself Choc Frost. Not having all the ingredients for a certain recipe is no reason to give up the effort - just concoct your own! Like I did....

It's always 12 o'clock somewhere, so eat up!

This recipe is definitely going to be adding cheer to the next cookbook I write! (NO, you won't find the other one on Amazon. Rats! I created it for my sister's real estate biz so she could give it away to clients.)

Have a joyful-heart day!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such lovely comments on three of my posts!

I love Lucy Maud Montgomery and I also collect books with pretty covers. Funny that you're an elementary librarian sub, because I'm actually doing my Masters in Information right to become a librarian!

You should definitely check out "Seams to Me". Anna Maria Horner is an amazing designer and I love her photography, fabrics, and blog!

You can hang out as long as you'd like with your bunny-slippered feet atop my coffee table! You should definitely try making a pinwheel quilt - I'm having great fun with mine. If you'd like I can send you a link to a really amazing tutorial on how to make the blocks and another to a great pattern that I found (not the one I'm using, but I will in the future). The pinwheel quilt is actually for my Mum for Christmas, so I won't be able to show it on the blog until after I give it to her (I found out last week that she actually does read my blog).

I hope you come back to my blog again, I really loved reading your comments. Maybe this can be the beginning of a log and beautiful bloggy-friendship!

Hey hey! I don't have a lot of time to leave a comment right now, but I wanted to give you think pinwheel links before I forgot (way too much on my plate!).

Here's the great tutorial for making the pinwheels: http://www.vanessachristenson.com/2008/09/so-its-quilt-month-over-at-mr.html

And here is the link to the pattern for a pinwheel quilt: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/03/pinwheel-baby-quilt.html

The pattern has a different way of making the blocks that I think is a bit fussy and would recommend just going with Vanessa's tutorial for the pinwheels (it's what I used and I loved it). The prairie points are super-cute on the pattern though!
